It's a small step...

It a very small step indeed from the rhetoric of James Dobson, Tom DeLay and Bill Frist to the rhetoric of Vic Bilson:

The situation in America today is similar and deteriorating rapidly. Your churches are weak and vacillating - few take seriously the Word of God. You take from Scripture what you feel comfortable with - that which fits your preconceived ideas, and ignore the rest.

But, be warned, wherever the Word of God is hidden or ignored, there will be certain destruction. Partly because the priests in Israel had failed to teach God's Word to the people, Israel suffered. There was no faithfulness, no love, and no acknowledgment of God in the land. Rather there was only cursing, lying, murder, stealing and adultery.

Like in ancient Israel, America today is guilty of forsaking God and attempting to create your own paths to heaven with broken cisterns. Few of you know what truth is anymore replacing fact with feeling on the altar of relativism and ridiculing anyone who claims to have truth. Your consciences have been seared and like the brazen prostitute; you refuse to blush with shame.

The satanic inspired lie of "Tolerance" - where God's Word is not proclaimed because people fear insulting or offending others has so infiltrated America today that few people even recognize the destructive results that inevitably follow.

If you're one who has redefined sin using the tolerance yardstick, I guarantee you won't like what you read here. You will likely be offended by what you believe to be a narrow-minded, hate-filled, and intolerant viewpoint.

Praise God! That means your conscience may still be intact.

Remember, Jesus brought a message of love and forgiveness.

Oh, feel free to defend this guy. I don't care. He has a cartoonish, absurd view of God.

  1. Jesus "message" was not simply about love and forgivness. To speak of Christ's "message" without speaking of the Cross is like presenting the color red in black and white - there is no meaning to it.

Perhaps this is where the Left has forgotten the language of the common Christian. The Left sees Jesus as some hip dude who spoke of love and peace. the end. Christianity, from catholicism to evangelicalism, teaches something profoundly different as to Christ's "message". It is the message of the Cross that defines Jesus to the believing, devout, church attending Christian, not some platitude about love. Jesus "love" was always trumped by devotion to God. It was Christ who took whips to the sinful money-changers in the temple. Clearly unforgiving, clearly intolerant, Clearly Christ.

Jesus "message" about love and forgiveness is in the context of his redemptive act on the cross. He loved every sinner and promises forgiveness to those who ask and acknowledge that sin exists, is real, and binds us like unyielding chains.

Jesus message is this: Sin kills us inside. It tears us up, yet Jesus defeated that death and gives us freedom.

I didn't want your tag to reduce Jesus to some unnuanced platitude. Had to comment.

  2. The guy is exactly right. Look what happened to Israel every time the began to turn away from God. WHAM! Someone comes in and takes them into bondage again. First the Egyptians, then the Babylonians, then the Assirians....

It isn't that God "punishes" them, its that they have to face the natural consequences of their actions.

It is your view of God that is cartooninsh. Care-Bears or My Little Pony, maybe.

  3. Defend this idiot if you will, but the following is text from his website:

    Shaking America's Foundations
With the son of the man who introduced the New World Order to America now in place, George W. Bush's mandate was to further his father's agenda of extending government control over American citizens and empowering the tentacles of a One World Government into foreign lands.

Recognizing that no Socialist movement can succeed unless it has control over the movement of it's citizens and insider intelligence of those who oppose them, Globalists along with President G.W. Bush, needed another "crisis" to move their agenda along.

That crisis came compliments of a group of extremist Muslims, perhaps even orchestrated by the CIA and/or FBI on Sept. 11, 2001.

The guy is not exactly right. The guy is a fool.

  4. I wasn't defending him or commenting on him at all. I looked at his website, and a good portion of it is simply the "Roman's Road", but a good portion of it is the extreme right version of your pretty extreme Left blog.

My comment was directed to a recurring take on Christianity on your blog: that Jesus "message" was about love and forgiveness. Fundamentally, it was not. Without the Cross, there is no message. To understand where GW comes from spiritually, from where I come from as well, you have to understand that most devout Christians understand Christ's message to be singly of the Cross. Thus we don't make movies about Christ's sayings but instead of his Passion.

Also, as a sidenote, you should read these posts with a much more cordial voice than I think your are giving them. I'm not harping or calling names. Simply, I am defending my faith. If I intend to yell, you'll see capital letters.
