But nobody listened to us. Well, we're almost there. The Army and the Marines both missed recruiting goals for the month of April. The Army by 42%.
The draft is coming soon.
Look at what has happened in Houston.
Here is the same thing happening in Golden, CO.
The draft is coming, and don't say we didn't try and warn you before the election.

A fair and honest draft no excuses no 4f's no deferments every one on the 18th birthday goes not for a year or more but for the duration no realease except for convenience of the government[ this rule should apply to all existing personal no rotation Early discharge only by body bag use army and marine training on the borderswith mexico and canada desertation trial and punishment must take no longer than 30 days bring back the fireing squad
ReplyDeleteI served with the U.S. Army during Viet Nam. Our nation had the draft then and although I voluntereed, I served with many draftees. The majority of them that I had contact with said sooner or later that they were glad to be in the service, that it gave them direction for their lives. Direction is something that is sorely needed for our young people today. Many are leaching off their parents and are still in their mid to late twentys.
ReplyDeleteSo I say bring the draft on....direction, discipline and an opportunity to do something for their country besides moan and groan; and yes, some will die as the cost of freedom is not always free.
It's going to have to happen, no questions asked. Because unlike Starcraft, you can't manufacture more soldiers. But it may not be for the best. Because many of the rich folk will get their kids out on some technicallity and some will declare themselves to be noncombatants and others will dodge the draft. But if there's a draft and the Bush daughters go over with no special treatment, I'll be more than happy to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm an old fart, I remember that the rich do not serve. That is the problem, Dick Cheney, Dennis Hastert, Tom Delay, Bill Frist, Rick Santorum, Jeb Bush, Karl Rove, Paul Wolfowitz, Rudy Guliani, George Will, Chris Mathews, Bill O'Reilly, Pat Buchanan, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, William Kristol, Sean Hannity, Antonin Scalia, Michael Medvid....The list goes on and on.
